Family Legacy

Tsakopoulos Investments is a family concern.

In his eighty-second year, family patriarch, George Tsakopoulos, continues to maintain a busy daily calendar and stays actively engaged in his various business enterprises. Since emigrating from his native Greece in 1955, George has set his hand to a diverse and complex mix of commercial real estate development and business interests.

Over his decades in business, George has acquired and built a diverse array of commercial real estate, including varied community retail properties, best-of-class office buildings which include Five Hundred Capitol Mall, the Esquire Plaza/IMAX Theater complex, and the twin-building Point West Corporate Plaza, and over 12,000 acres of land held for future development spanning five-counties in the heart of California. George also enjoys diverse farming, ranching, and grazing business interests associated with his land holdings.

George built his first shopping center in 1970, which he and his wife, Drosoula, still own and manage. He built his first high-rise in downtown Sacramento in 1971.
